Chapter 7 - Bad Decisions
The others had already left the office but Eric had a couple of matters to take care of before he clocked off for the day. Kiara decided to wait for Eric and the two of them went down to the bar shortly afterwards to join the others. Kiara groaned internally when she saw that a beautiful platinum blonde woman was sitting and laughing with her co-workers.
Brianna quickly walked over to Kiara and pulled her aside. It was no secret that Kiara was intimidated by Brianna. Kiara feared that Brianna might cause a scene in front of her new colleagues.
"Brianna I'm really sorry about your birthday - " Kiara gulped, bracing herself as to what might happen next.
"No, I'm sorry. I feel like we got off on the wrong foot. I've just been going through a lot lately and I've just turned into a total bitch," Brianna said. Kiara let out an awkward laugh, relieved that she wasn't being yelled at but unsure of how to respond. Brianna continued to speak, "I would literally do anything for you to forget everything that happened at my party... Laurie has forgiven me and I really want to try and salvage our relationship... You haven't told anyone about what you saw that night, did you?"
"No, I haven't told anyone."
"Okay good. Come on, let me buy you a drink," and with that, Brianna pulled Kiara to the bar. Kiara still felt unsettled around Brianna but she decided to push aside her uneasiness for the sake of getting to know her colleagues.
Everyone took turns buying a round for the group and it soon dawned on Kiara that she would need to pay for a round herself. She knew that she wouldn't have enough money to make rent that week if she bought a round but she did it anyway, determined to fit in.
Kiara couldn't help but notice Brianna cuddling up to Laurie all night. Kiara knew that Laurie thought of Brianna as just business but it seemed like he was loving it.
As the night went on, Kiara began to feel more and more lonely. She grabbed her phone and sent off a drunken text. Before she could stop to think what she was doing, she found herself inside a small dingy apartment, running her hands down a body she knew very well.
Kiara woke up the next morning disorientated and confused. She jumped out of bed and almost screamed when she realised where she was.
Oh my fucking god, Kiara thought. I am so stupid.
Kiara got dressed in a flash and quietly snuck out of the apartment. She rushed home to grab a change of clothes for work and was stopped by Jasmine on her way in.
"I see that you didn't make it home last night," Jasmine raised her eyebrow. "I hope you weren't with Dario after everything I went through to get him fired and then rehired again... I had to beg my dad to switch catering companies for all SimsAirlines functions."
Kiara remained silent and hung her head in shame. Jasmine gasped. "Are you serious?!"
"I don't want to talk about it," Kiara grumbled.
"Is there a part of you that still wants to be with him?"
"No! I mean, I don't know," Kiara whined.
"Nope, this won't do. Block his number right now," Jasmine ordered and Kiara obeyed reluctantly. "Now go and get yourself ready for work!"
Kiara jumped in the shower and furiously scrubbed her body as though cleansing her body would rid her of the bad decisions she had made so far in San Myshuno. Somehow being in the city made her feel like she was regressing and not moving forward. In a moment of weakness she ran to Dario to alleviate her loneliness but being with him made her feel lonelier than ever. Kiara began to miss the simple life she led back in Oasis Springs.
Aww poor Kiara!
